I’m Krystin-Youngju Smith, a contemporary classical artist working in watercolor, acrylic, photography, and mixed media. My art explores the threshold between the visible and the invisible, inviting you to reflect, discover, and find beauty in both the seen and the unseen.

My work is diverse, ranging from surreal photography that captures dreamlike moments to realistic portraits and landscapes that hold a touch of my unique brushstrokes and style. Whether I’m painting a cherished memory or crafting an abstract piece, everything I create is rooted in a sense of hope and positivity. My goal is to offer moments of joy and light, even in the simplest forms.

After 15 years as an educator in the U.S., Germany, and South Korea, I’m now completing my BFA in Studio Art at the University of North Texas. My work has been exhibited in juried and group shows, and I also create commission pieces, especially pet portraits and custom artwork. I find joy in capturing the unique spirit of each subject and sharing a sense of hope and beauty with others.
